Christmas Candy Bar Wrapper & Ornament

Hi everyone!

I made this candy bar wrapper and ornament when I was playing around with all my Christmas supplies the other day. I had so much fun and without a thought, created as I went! Here's what I came up with. Hope you like it. Happy Holidays to you and here's to a happy 2010!! :-)

Christmas Tag

I had such fun watching Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas again this year. He is such an inspiration and I just LOVE the grunge and distressed look... with glimmer! :-)

Here is a tag I made for my bff Bona. I had so much fun creating this. I sorta played it by ear and added a little something here and there as I went. I love how it turned out.

First I used Archival Ink to stamp the snowman image which is from a Tim Holtz Christmas stamp set. Then I used Archival Ink to stamp the french script, also from a Tim stamp set. Then I used Distress ink in Broken China to stamp the snowflakes. I sprinkled on clear embossing powder and it allowed not only the snowflakes to "rise and shine", but unexpectedly the french script too, I love how it did that!

The sentiment "Christmas Snow" and the small snowflakes are colored in using Frost lace Stickles. Then I edged the tag with Broken China Distress ink. I then took "Frost" Tattered Angels glimmer mist and shined up the entire tag, then edged the tag with Vintage Photo. Finally, I wanted to add a "snow" effect, so I used my Versamark pen and sprinkled on some UTEE randomly and heat set. Instant snow & shine!

As a finishing touch, I added an XL eyelet, Prima flower (using Velma's technique!) ribbon & fibers and a home made charm.

Hope you like it! MERRY CHRISTMAS all!

Arlene

Christmas Gatefold Mini Album

Hi everyone! I finally got started on a Christmas mini-album for my mom and I'm having such a fun time putting this one together! I love Christmas. Something about hot coffee, Christmas music playing, shopping, the kids all giggly... definitely brings a smile to my face. :-)

Here are a few pictures of the mini album I created for my Mom, as well as the YouTube vid. I used last year's Christmas Cheer paper collection by K&Company (LOVE this paperline!) The mini-album measures 6x12 and I glimmer mist each page with random colors like Iridescent Gold, Garden Fairy, Gold, Dew Drop and Frost (LOVE Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist!!!) :-) I decided to keep the interior pages pretty simple so the album can lay flush when closed. The frame ornament on the cover is from Michael's and it adds just the perfect touch to personalize the cover of the mini once a photo is added!

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by! Happy holidays everyone! :-)

hugs,
Arlene

Original Cricut for sale!

*** SOLD as of 12/21/09 ***

Hi Ladies,

I recently got the Cricut Expression and I'm so super excited to start using it. It's much bigger and more versatile that my original Cricut. I can't wait to cut out larger boxes, tags, pockets, etc.

Unfortunately, I no longer have room for my original Cricut, so I'll be selling it to anyone who is interested. It's an original Cricut and it's in excellent condition. The blade is near new and the machine will come with a new 6x12 self healing cutting mat. The machine will also be shipped in it's original box and packaging. I will be selling the machine for $50 USD, plus shipping. The original cricut typically sells for $99 - $150 USD.

If you are interested, I will also include the Indie Art Solutions cartridge. It was packaged with my Cricut Expression and I already have the cartridge. It contains some really cool retro shapes such as a crown, butterfly, skull, guitar, etc. If you are interested, I will include it with the machine for an additional $25. Payment should be made via PayPal.

If you are interested, please send me an email at bfkwithlove@gmail.com.

Have a great weekend!

hugs,
Arlene

Tin Can Mini Album

I picked up these Vintage Findings tin cans on clearance for about $.49/each at Michael's and decided to make a mini-album out of them. Since my brother and his girlfriend just got engaged over the Thanksgiving holiday, I thought it would be neat to scrap their engagement memories in this little "memory capsule." I used Vintage Findings accents, Prima, Co'ordinations paper, and other embellishements to dress up this little guy. Hope you like it! :-)
