Twilight Canvas for Bona

Everyone who knows me knows I am a die hard Twilight fan... I'm so super excited for tomorrow 'cuz Bona and I are catching the premiere of Twilight Saga: Eclipse in IMAX. I can't wait!!! I haven't seen Bona in awhile and thought I'd make her something "Twilight-ish" as she has recently jumped on the Twilight band-wagon and I'm so excited that we have another thing to enjoy together! hehe!!!

Here is the canvas I made for Bona. Be sure to check out the YouTube vid to see how I created it. Thanks for stopping by!

Projects before I was MIA...

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA... as you may have heard from my YouTube videos, my whole family caught a virus/bug and we were down for the count for over a week. It was ugly. I'm just happy to say that we're all much better and the illness is past us. Whew!!!

So I wanted to share a few projects I had worked on that I haven't had a chance to post. Hope you are having a great weekend and are looking forward to the July 4th holiday like I am... can't wait!!! :-)

hugs!
Ar :-)

This is an altered "P" I made for my friend Paula over at "JournalArtista". I used Golden Glass Bead Gel, glimmer mist, Ranger color wash, Perfect Pearls and acrylic paint to distress the "P." I made the flower using Prima's eLine flowers and the metal embellishments are by Tim Holtz, sentiment by Invoke Arts, ribbon by Martha Stewart.

This is the Father's Day card I made for hubby. I also used Golden glass bead gel for the background mixed with Basics acrylic paint and sprayed with color wash & perfect pearls. The sentiment is from a Crafty Secrets stamp set and the graphic is from the Proper Gentleman paper collection by Graphic 45.

This is a card I created for Christina over at "Chris416ward" on YouTube. I love this TGF image and had a lot of fun coloring it with my Copic markers.

My new love of Art Journaling and my inspiration...

Hi everyone!

I haven't completely veered away from traditional scrapbooking, mini albums and tags... but I have ventured into a new love of art journaling. I am having so much fun and to create art in my journal is so liberating! It's not too far from creating mini albums, BUT... I feel more free to discover, create and play with art journaling. Mini albums tend to be more "scripted." I love to "wing it" on my art journal pages... and so far (lucky enough hehee!) the pages have come out pretty okay. :-) I wanted to share some of those pages with you all in this post. I have a few vids posted on YouTube that showcase these pages, so I hope you check it out.

I also want to share that Paula over at "JournalArtista" on YouTube has been a GREAT source of inspiration for me. Her work is AMAZING!! And her art journal tutorials are one of the best out there. I'm happy to call Paula one of my YouTube "besties." She is the sweetest friend ever and is so giving of her talent. So be sure to check out her YouTube channel. You can also find her blog HERE.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

hugs!!

My very first completed art journal page below... I'm such a novice, but I'm having a blast!

I love working with different types of textures and layers. On this page I have a ton of stuff going on from watercolour crayons, acrylic paints, stamps, collages, etc.
Those who know me well know that I've been a Twilight fan since day 1. I thought I'd create a page of Twilight and New Moon to add to my Art journal because it's all about what I love! :-) I used a ton of layers on this page and experimented with a bunch of collaging and rub ons!

I loooooooove brown and I loooooove vintage... so I thought I'd create an art journal spread for these things! Check out my video series on how I created the page to the right.

A few new tags...

Here are just a few tags I made for some special friends. I used Gel bead medium & acrylics on the base of the smaller tag and crackle paste on the larger tag with the vintage lady. FUN mediums to work with, love it! Thanks for stopping by! hugs, Arlene :-)

Butterfly Kisses Tag Swap Update

Hi everyone. I'm sad to announce that the June tag swap will be the last swap I will be hosting for awhile. I'm taking a little break to focus on family, work, personal projects, and my new love of art journaling. :-) I have had such a blast hosting the tags swaps and seeing all the super amazing talent that has come to my door step every month. All of you ladies are so creative and bring inspiration to many of us. Thank you so much for participating and making the swaps so much fun!

I hope you continue to take advantage of all the other Tag Swaps out there on YouTube, Blogger, the Beach, Your Paper Pantry, etc. I've seen a lot of tag swap groups open up since I started mine in February, which is so awesome!

Anyhow, have fun and never stop creating! :-)

Arlene

Graphic 45 Fashionista Canvas for Jade!

Hi everyone!

Jade over at JadedStudios is one of my fav crafty sistahs and she celebrated a birthday not too long ago, so I'm shipping her over some birthday goodies. But of course I couldn't ship stuff without a little custom-made "something-something" from me... sooooooo.... I decided to put together a canvas for her, with Jade being the inspiration of course (check out her canvas video HERE, it's AWESOME!!!) The canvas is 5x5 and I used the Graphic 45 Fashionista paper collection, which is one of her (and my!) favorite papers. All the elements I incorporated into this canvas had Jade in mind... she loves cameos, the Prima Camelot flowers, lace.... oh, and I was able to snatch her cute little photo off Facebook and print it up. LOL!!

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the YouTube vid on how I created the canvas as well. I had so much fun making this! :-)

Happy Belated Birthday Jade girl!!! :-)

hugs,
Arlene
