MFT Teaser Day 5

Welcome to MFT's 5th teaser day! Thanks for joining our fun little sneak peek at MFT's upcoming release on February 1st. Did you have as much fun as I did?? How's your shopping list looking? It's so hard not to want it all, right?! :-)

For today's project, I wanted to share a card I created for my son Dylan. He just turned 7 this past Sunday and I just cannot believe how much he has grown - right before my eyes! I tear when I look back at the days when he was just a baby in my arms. He was always my little "spunk" and still is. Full of never-ending energy! hehe!

(front)

The base of my card is 6x6. I used Coordinations cardstock on the base and layered it up with some DP I received in a RAK a few months ago (sorry I don't know the paper line!) But the papers were the perfect color of green, which is Dylan's fav color. I stamped up the image from the WTG My How You've Grown stamp set, colored it up with my Copic markers and paper pieced to match the card. Do you spy the matching scallop on the background? That's cut out using MFT's Simply Scallops Die-namics die. And of course, I put another rosette on this project because I just cannot get enough of them! hehe! I used my scallop scissors to trim the edge of the rosette before putting it together, then topped it with an iamroses.com flower and half-back pearl. Next to the rosette and under the sentiment are hearts cut out in mulberry paper using MFT's Hearts a Plenty die.

(inside)

Inside the card, I popped in another mulbuerry heart and I used MFT's Layered Labels die set for the sentiment, which is from the Thanks a Bunch stamp set.

Here are the deets regarding the upcoming release tomorrow, February 1st, at 10 PM EST:

Lovin' Lindy Hop!

**Giveaway is CLOSED. Winner will be announced here on my blog at 4pm PT, so please check back.**

Lindy's Stamp Gang

Whoot whoot! I'm here for Lindy Stamp Gang's very first Lovin' Lindy Hop! What fun! :-) The LSG design team will be sharing their favorite Lindy Stamp Gang products with you and some super amazing projects created with these products! You don't want to miss out on all the information being shared with you on this hop, especially if you are new to Lindy Stamp Gang products. The question I hear most often is "What products should I start with?" Well... we're here to help you with that!

A HUGE perk to our little hop is each design member is hostly a giveaway! Each of us will be hosting a drawing on our blog and the winner will win some of our favorite Lindy Stamp Gang products! :-) So be sure to visit all of us and leave a comment to "up" your chances of winning some LSG goodness! More details are included at the end of this post...

So onto my project!

I was having a blast playing around with my Glitz Spritz sprays, so I just HAD to use this project for the hop! I'm in LOVE with Glitz Spritz, especially when sprayed on black or dark cardstock. The colors are so amazing! I used a 12x12 butterfly overlay from KI Memories, laid it down on a 4 x 5 1/4" in black cardstock panel and sprayed 3 colored diagonally across the panel -- Desert Moon Cactus Gold, Desert Moon Gecko Green and Polished Copper. I love how the colors just naturally blend! I removed the overlay, dabbed with a paper towel, heat set, then... voila! Super glimmery, pretty!!

For the butterfly, I used Versamark and stamped the butterfly on Papertrey Ink white cardstock. Then I took my Lindy Aqua pen, filled with water, and used my Magicals to color in the butterfly. I used 3 colors of Magicals -- Opal Sea Oats, Saxifrage Olive and Cattail Copper. I LOVE magicals! You can use them not only to paint images, but your mulberry flowers and leaves too!

Click HERE to watch the video tutorial for this card.

Are you new to Lindy Stamp Gang products and are wondering what color set you should start with? My answer would be, it depends. What is your favorite color palette? Do you love pinks? If so, I recommend starting off with a Little Lindy pack in "Sweet Treats" (warm pink) or "Hottie Potattie" (bold pink). These trial packs come with a combination of a Moon Shadow Mist Starburst Spray/Stain and a Magical. Great deal too! :-) Do you like Browns? Try the "Metallic Browns" Little Lindy. The new Tiffany's Blue happens to be my new FAV blue, if you like blues.

So run on over and check out Lindy Stamp Gang. Maybe even check out some of the LSG video tutorials to help you decide what products might be right for you. But before you do that, don't forget to check out what my fellow LSG DT gals created for the hop and don't forget to comment and show some love to enter to win our giveaways!

Here are my new all time favorite Starburst Stains -- I cannot live without these colors!

Tiffany's blue, Cotton Candy Pink, Golden Sleigh Bells, Dark Chocolate Truffle

GIVEAWAY "deets":

For my blog giveaway, the winner will receive a selection of my favorite LSG products! To win, you must leave a comment on THIS post. A winner will be randomly chosen on Feb. 2nd at 7pm EST, so be sure to check back here on my blog to see if you won! :-)

Good luck and happy hopping!

MFT Teaser Day 4

Hi everyone! We are almost wrapping up our teasers for this upcoming release and we are so excited that you are following along with us as we show you some of the new and exciting products MFT has to offer!

Let's jump right in!

Today I want to share a project that I'm certain you will find unique from what you typically see... hehe!! This is a butterfly hanging sign! Those who know me and follow my blog, YouTube or Facebook page, know that I am a butterfly enthusiast... I just LOVE anything butterflies! To me, it's not just the beauty of the butterfly, but the symbolism behind the life of a butterfly that I love. I won't go into all the deets on that, but just know, I love butterflies. hehe!! So I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do with this project... and it came to me! I make YouTube videos regularly (my channel is HERE) and when the kids or the hubby are home, they don't believe in knocking before walking into a room with a closed door, so they typically storm in with loud voices -- yes, right when I'm making a video -- it never fails. LOL!!! So I decided to make a sign I can hang outside on my door so they know when I'm filming a video. :-)

The base of my sign is medium weight chipboard cut out using a large butterfly AccuCut die (7x9 inches) and I layered on Once Upon a Springtime DP by Graphic 45, then stitched around the edges with my sewing machine (yes, I'm a sewing person now -- whoot whoot!!!) I stamped the big butterflies on DP using the new Inspired by Butterflies stamp set, then paper pieced parts of it using different DP from the G45 collection. I rubbed some Ranger Rock Candy Stickles over top the butterflies with my finger and just love how they came out! More details on this project can be found on my video HERE.

Now onto the easel card I created! :-)

I have to say, this is one of my favorite all time stamp sets that MFT has come out with. Not only is it the cute little PI girl... but she has butterfly wings and the stamp set comes with a Butterfly Kisses sentiment on it!!! Can you tell how ecstatic I am?!?! The stamp set is called Pure Innocence: Butterfly Kisses. You guys, come on... is she adorable or what? I LOVE this little girl! :-) I colored her up with my Copic markers, paper pieced her outfit using Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime paper collection and I used glass beads on her wings (I love working with glass beads!) I "baaaalinged" her up by using my At You Spica glitter pens on her barrette and shoes. :-) I popped on a rosette flower, made with MFT's 3/8" Rosette die. And do you spy butterflies? YES! :-) These little babies were cut out using MFT's new Butterflies Die-namics die coming out on February 1st! Are you excited yet? :-)

MFT Teaser Day 2

Hi everyone! What an amazing Februrary release MFT's got and we're super excited to share with you all the yummy crafty goodness created with these new products! Are you ready for day 2 of teasers?? :-)

Before we jump in, here are the "deets" about the upcoming release on February 1st at 10 PM EST:

  • The MFT release is on February 1st at 10 PM EST. You can attend the release party from 8-10 PM EST here in the forum for fun, games, and prizes! All the new sets and dies will be available on February 1st at 10 PM EST.

I created two cards to share with you today! I used the new Jolinne - Catch a Star stamp set for my first card. This stamp set is so adorable! I love how you can interchange the butterflies to stars, but for my card I decided to use the butterflies (of course! hehe!) I colored Jolinne up with my Copic markers and tried my hand at creating grass with my Prisma color pencils (thanks for the tips Jody!) I have a list of the products used at the bottom of this post.

(front)

(inside)

For my second card, I used the new Flopsey - Smooth Sailing stamp set. Flopsey has got to be my most favorite character -- I just love him! He goes so perfectly with all my manly, boyish projects (and keep in mind, I have 3 sons, a husband, 2 brothers and a brother-in-law!! LOL) I colored up Flopsey with my Copic markers and paper pieced the sail boat using an old Stampin' Up designer paper collection I had in my stash. I love the clouds! I cut them out with the Cloud Trio die using MFT's My Favorite Felt. The waves were cut out using MFTs new Catch a Wave die coming out Feb 1st. Super fun! More information on products used is included at the end of this post.

MFT: Wednesday Stamp Club #4

Hey there everyone! It's time to get sketchy with MFT's Wednesday Stamp Club! This is my very first time participating in the WSC sketch challenge since I became an official design team member and I'm having a BLAST! Won't you join us?? :-)

Here's some 411 on the WSC Getting Sketchy challenge:

A new sketch will be posted each Wednesday at midnight on the MFT blog. You'll also find the sketch in the MFT forum on SCS on Wednesday morning, as well as in the weekly newsletter. Our talented Challenge and Design Teams will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

We encourage you all to play along, and to enter your card in the weekly draw for a $15 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique. Simply follow the sketch and create a card or other paper creation. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week, a keyword is assigned to the sketch. All you need to do to enter, is upload your card to the gallery at SCS, and enter the given keyword in the keyword box, during the upload process. After the deadline, we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher! That is up to $100 per month in prizes, JUST for playing along!

Upload your card or paper project to SplitcoastStampers with keyword MFTWSC4.

Now onto my project.... :-)

I created this card using MFT's Pure Innocence: Box of Love stamp set. How adorable is she you guys? I had so much fun coloring her up with my Copic markers, I created a vid HERE so I could share with you. :-) I paper pieced her using K&Co's Portabello paper collection, fussy cut her out and layered her atop a Dainty Lace Doily, cut out using MFT's Hot Fudge cardstock (which is also the base of my card.) I popped up a little heart that I cut out using the Hearts a-plenty Die-namics.

(inside)

(close-up)

So what do you think of my stitching? You think I'm getting better at it? I'm such a virgin when it comes to using my sewing machine. LOL!! I'd like to think I'm getting somewhat better at it. hehe!!

Inside the card I used the the Polka Dot Greetings die and the Textile Rectangle die. And dontcha just {{ heart }} that sentiment?! A friend with chocolate is a friend indeed eh?! :-)

Anywhooo... be sure to check out Kim's blog to see more WSC goodness the design team has ready to share with you today!

Thanks for peeping by! :-)

Can't wait to use them in some projects! :-) Check out the video HERE -- I also included a tutorial on how to create the double layer rosette.
